The Bobath Concept is a problem solving approach for the assessment and treatment of a neurological impairment of function, movement and postural control. It was named after its founders Berta and Karel Bobath, and is today one of the most commonly used approaches in neurological rehabilitation.
Amelia is Bobath trained to an advanced level and applies this approach within her practice.
The Bobath Concept is based upon current evidence-based knowledge of motor control, motor learning, neural plasticity combined with knowledge of biomechanics.
Specific handling techniques and facilitation of normal movement are amongst many strategies used to facilitate successful performance. Along with careful structuring of the activity/ task and environment; a 24 hour management strategy; prevention of adverse compensations and promotive measures are all included in this approach.

Assessment and treatment are continuously evaluated in response to the individual, with treatment modification as independent control is acquired.
